Before exploring Cannon Beach, we will take a short drive into Ecola State Park. The park offers one of the most commanding views of the rugged Oregon coastline, and is home to a preserved rainforest. This is the perfect place to learn about the geology that formed the rugged coastline and the mountains that lie before you.
Cannon Beach, one of Oregon’s most charming coastal towns, is famous for its art galleries and shops. We will stop for lunch and some exploring. Buy some saltwater taffy, a kite, or perhaps a piece of art that you just can’t resist.
OSWALD WEST STATE PARK
Oswald West State Park is one of Oregon’s true gems. Take a short hike through a dense old-growth forest to Short Sands. This beach is in a beautiful cove nestled between two looming mountains; a waterfall cascades onto the sand from a nearby mountain stream. This is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the Oregon Coast.
